Branding Methods
The right branding method depends on the material, the shape of the item and your artwork. Here is a practical overview of every technique we offer.
Putting a logo on a product is never just one process. A metal bottle, a cotton T-shirt and a leather notebook all react differently, and the best result comes from matching the technique to the material. Below you will find the branding methods we work with, what each does well and where it reaches its limits. You do not need to decide on your own: when you send a request, we suggest the method that fits the product and your logo, and the free digital proof shows exactly how it will look.
Overview of our logo branding methods
| Method | Best for | Look and feel |
|---|---|---|
| Laser engraving | metal, wood, bamboo, leather, glass | permanent, precise, single-tone |
| Pad printing | pens, small plastic items, curved surfaces | crisp spot colours, small areas |
| Digital & UV printing | hard plastic, metal, wood, glass, paper | full colour, fine detail |
| Screen printing | cotton textiles, bags, paper | bold, opaque spot colours |
| DTF & transfer printing | cotton, polyester, dark fabrics | full colour on textiles |
| Sublimation printing | white polyester, coated mugs | all-over colour, no feel |
| Logo embroidery | polo shirts, caps, jackets, fleece | raised, textured, durable |
| Embossing & debossing | leather, leatherette, card | pressed, tone-on-tone |
| Hot foil printing | notebook covers, packaging, paper | metallic or coloured shine |
| Doming | keyrings, badges, magnets, emblems | full colour under a clear resin lens |
How we choose the method with you
Three questions decide most cases. First, what is the item made of? As a rule of thumb, metal is engraved, textiles are embroidered or printed by screen or DTF, ceramics are sublimated or decorated with a decal, plastics take pad or UV printing, and leather is embossed. Second, how many colours and how much detail does the logo have? Spot-colour methods charge per colour, while digital, UV, DTF and sublimation handle full colour without extra setup. Third, how will the item be used? Something washed or handled every day benefits from embroidery, engraving or sublimation.
Many products can be branded in more than one way. Each product page lists the options and has an indicative calculator for the branding cost; the final price for your quantity and artwork comes with your quote.
