Artwork Requirements
Good artwork makes for a sharp result. Here is what to send so your logo looks right on every product, and what we do before production starts.
Every branding method has its own technical limits, but the starting point is always the same: a clean, scalable version of your logo. If you are unsure whether your file is suitable, send what you have. We check every file and tell you if something needs adjusting before you see the proof.
Preferred file formats
- AI (Adobe Illustrator), PDF saved with vector content, SVG or EPS.
- Vector files can be scaled to any size without losing sharpness, which matters for everything from a pen to a banner.
- Convert all text to outlines (curves), or include the fonts, so the lettering does not change.
- Remove anything that should not be printed, such as guides, crop marks or hidden layers.
JPG or PNG files are suitable only for full-colour methods such as UV printing, sublimation or DTF, and only if they are high resolution at the final print size. A logo copied from a website or an email signature is usually too small.
Colours and Pantone
For spot-colour methods, such as screen printing and pad printing, each colour is printed separately, so please give the Pantone (PMS) reference for every colour in your logo. Brand guidelines with Pantone, CMYK and RGB values are ideal. Colours on screen always differ from the printed result, and the material itself affects the shade; we match Pantone references as closely as the method and surface allow.
One-colour and simplified versions
Some methods work in a single tone: laser engraving, embossing and debossing and hot foil. For these, a one-colour version of the logo without gradients or shadows works best. For embroidery and small print areas, a simplified version without very fine lines or small text often gives a cleaner result.
Size and detail
The smallest reproducible line or letter depends on the method and the material: engraving on metal can hold finer detail than embroidery on fleece. We check your artwork against the print area of the chosen product and point out anything that may not come out clearly.
The free digital proof
Before production we prepare a free digital proof showing your logo on the product, with its size, position and colours. Please check it carefully, including spelling and contact details. Production starts only after you approve the proof. More on the process in how to order, or send your file with a quote request.
